Custom, Hand-Painted Watercolor Painting
Watercolor portraits make great gifts for grandparents, especially with all their grandchildren! From your reference photograph, I sketch and paint a custom original watercolor painting. Photos with all or most of the bodies pictured work best. After placing your order, please email your reference photo(s) along with any special instructions to michelle@thewatercolormanuel.com. I will send a pencil sketch first for you to approve before proceeding to paint.
 
  • Acid-Free 140lb cold-pressed watercolor paper
  • Painting on 9" x 12" with margins left to allow for matting in a standard 8" x 10" frame/mat
  • Can be trimmed to 8" x 10" upon request
  • Shipped via USPS in resealable cellophane envelope with cardboard backing inside a manila envelope 
  • Optional matting is available with beveled edge mat (white or black) on sturdy backing board with a clear cellophane envelope. Mat opening is 8" x10". Total dimensions of a matted painting are 11" x 14"
 
Additional Prints | Digital Files & Reproduction Rights
I take high-quality scans of all my completed paintings in order to make additional prints and digital copies. You can order prints of your custom painting by ordering my "Extra Prints" listing. You can order high-resolution digital files and personal use reproduction rights to your custom painting available by ordering my "Digital Copy" listing. Great for sharing your illustration with additional family members, making holiday cards, gifts, and more! (These can also be ordered at a later date if you change your mind.)

  • Return and Refund Policy

    Due to the custom nature of the product, all sales are final. 

  • Social Media

    I often share bits of my creative process in my Instagram/Facebook stories of what I’m working on. If you are giving your custom painting as a gift and the recipient may follow me, please let me know!

  • Proofing

    I will email or text my pencil sketch before I paint. If you requested any writing on your painting, proof it very carefully! If typos are caught in pencil, it’s an easy fix. Once sketch is approved & painted, artist is NOT responsible for any typos or mispellings.

  • Copyright

    Note that sole copyright to all custom artwork and prints are fully retained by the artist. Any unauthorized reproduction or commercial use is in violation of U.S. copyright law. Purchase of an original painting or print DOES NOT transfer the copyrights. The artist, Michelle Manuel, reserves the right to create printed reproductions of her original works for sale.
